Event Description:
La Paz County District 2 Supervisor, Duce Minor has announced he will be hosting a
community meeting regarding U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s River Operations. The
meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held
at the La Paz County Sheriff’s Boating and Safety Meeting Room located at 8484
Riverside Drive, Parker, Arizona.
U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Deputy Chief, Mike Bernardo, P.E., PMP and River
Operations Manager, Noe Santos, P.E. from the Boulder Canyon Operations Office,
Interior Region 8: Lower Colorado Basin will be sharing a presentation on Colorado
River Operations. The presentation will focus on operations below Parker Dam,
including the Parker Strip (Lake Moovalya), and how recent drought conditions and
hydropower generation needs have affected water releases. There will be a question-
and-answer period following the presentation.
Supervisor Minor said, “I very much appreciate officials from the Bureau of
Reclamation agreeing to come to Parker to share important information with our
community as well as address questions from community members. I encourage
community members to attend.”
