Overview:

The Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce & Tourism seeks a forward-thinking and skilled Executive Director to lead its mission of advancing the commercial, industrial, agricultural, tourism, civic and general interests of the trade area by supporting local businesses, promoting tourism, and engaging the community. As the Designated Office of Marketing (DOM) for the State of Arizona and the Town of Parker, the Chamber plays a key role in shaping the region’s identity and visibility.

 

The Executive Director will oversee the Chamber’s operations with a focus on strategic leadership, marketing, financial sustainability, change management, and events. This position requires a professional with a proven ability to lead through transitions, foster collaboration, and implement strategic initiatives while maintaining a strong commitment to stakeholder engagement and purposeful communication.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership & Change Management:

  • Lead organizational change initiatives, fostering adaptability and innovation among staff, members, and volunteers.
  • Analyze existing processes and programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing positive, results-driven changes.
  • Provide strategic direction to align the Chamber’s activities with its mission and goals while ensuring its long-term sustainability.
  • Communicate change effectively to stakeholders, building trust and buy-in through transparent and inclusive approaches.

Financial Planning & Management:

  • Develop and oversee the Chamber’s annual budget, ensuring financial health and accountability.
  • Identify and pursue diverse revenue streams, including membership dues, events, sponsorships, and grants.
  • Monitor financial performance, provide regular reports to the Board of Directors, and adjust strategies as needed to meet financial goals.

Marketing & Communications:

  • Design and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy, including digital marketing, social media, website management, and traditional advertising.
  • Develop a cohesive communication plan that emphasizes positive, purposeful, and engaging messaging across all stakeholder touchpoints.
  • Promote tourism in Parker as part of the Chamber’s role as the DOM, collaborating with local businesses and tourism stakeholders to attract visitors.
  • Attend Regional, Statewide, and County trade shows to promote Parker and the Parker Regional Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.
Membership & Volunteer Engagement:
  • Cultivate relationships with Chamber members, demonstrating the value of membership and addressing their needs.
  • Strategically grow membership and increase retention through engagement initiatives, personalized outreach, and enhanced benefits.
  • Recruit, train, and inspire volunteers to actively participate in Chamber programs and events.
Event Planning & Fundraising:
  • Plan and execute seamless events that align with the Chamber’s objectives, engaging the community and driving revenue.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, sponsorships, and logistics to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Commit to frequent evening and Saturday availability to support and oversee events including set-up and tear-down.

Collaboration & Advocacy:

  • Build strong partnerships with city, county, and state stakeholders to advocate for business, tourism, and community priorities.
  • Collaborate with the La Paz County Economic Development Corporation to align initiatives and achieve shared goals.
  • Serve as the Chamber’s spokesperson, representing the organization at community events, public meetings, and forums.
Education & Professional Development:
  • Organize and promote educational workshops and seminars tailored to member and community needs.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regional developments to provide relevant resources and guidance to members.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in organizational leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement. Non-profit experience is a plus.
  • Strong background in financial planning, budget management, and revenue generation.
  • Expertise in marketing, including digital strategies, communication planning, and brand management.
  • Demonstrated success in event planning, fundraising, and volunteer management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to navigate complex relationships.
  • Ability to analyze challenges, create actionable plans, and lead through change with a focus on positive outcomes.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, Saturdays & a few Sundays to support events and community initiatives.
 

Work Schedule:

This position requires a flexible schedule, including frequent evenings, Saturdays and a few Sunday commitments to support events, tourism promotion, and stakeholder engagement.

 

Travel Requirements:

Monthly Travel:

Frequent travel within the local community to attend meetings, events, and engage with stakeholders. Mileage reimbursement provided for local and regional travel.
 

Quarterly Travel:

Travel to Tri-State Alliance meetings and tourism trade shows.

Typically involves 1-2 days of travel per quarter.

 

Annual Travel:

Attendance at 2-4 industry conferences per year, requiring multi-day travel, including overnight stays.

 
Work Conditions:
  • Roles within the organization may involve:
  • Extended periods of sitting and standing, often alternating based on project needs.
  • Lifting and carrying heavy items, up to 50 lbs or more, for event setup, donations, or storage management.
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights for decorating, storage access, or facility maintenance.
  • Utilizing household tools, power tools, or other equipment for minor repairs or improvements.
  • Working in varying environments, including office settings, outdoor venues, or storage areas.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, or working in confined spaces as tasks require.

All work will adhere to safety protocols and support the organization’s mission to serve the community effectively.

 

Compensation:

The Executive Director's salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications, with a base range of $60,000 to $75,000. Performance-based incentives may also be available.
